Differences Between CBD Extracts
by Bay Mountain AG
What are the types of CBD Extracts?
This is another frequent flyer question we often are asked Farmers Markets by new customers trying to understand CBD products. There are basically 3 types of CBD extracts, each with their own properties and benefits. I hope this helps explains the main differences as you evaluate what might work best for you.
Isolate
Isolate is the pure form of CBD that has been isolated from the rest of the hemp. When you take a product made with a CBD isolate, you do not get any other cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids naturally present in the hemp plant. Isolates are flavorless and colorless. People who find that pure CBD work best for them may want to consider an isolate.
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad Spectrum CBD contains every compound from the hemp plant, minus the THC. Broad spectrum provides more benefits than an Isolate alone, including some secondary pain management, stress and mood effects. While THC is the main ingredient in marijuana that produces a ‘high’, the naturally low THC levels in hemp are non-psychogenic and legal. Even so, for some folks who worry about potentially failing a drug test, a Broad spectrum CBD may be the answer.
Full spectrum CBD Extract
Full spectrum CBD extract contains all the compounds that naturally occur in the Hemp flowers/buds including THC, CBG, CBN, and more. Full spectrum CBD gives a greater, more balanced impact, because having all the compounds interact together with the body synergistically “as nature intended” multiplies their efficiency and creates an “Entourage Effect.” Full spectrum is the full deal and what many customers are looking for in their
CBD.
This brief breakdown of the differences between CBD extracts is a quick guide for anyone who wants to learn about CBD and use it for their benefit. Each extract type is unique enough to merit consideration of what would work best for you. But ultimately, any of the three extracts outlined here will offer awesome properties to your body!
