CBD oils verses CBD tinctures

Even though CBD retailers often use the terms CBD ‘oil’ and ‘tincture’ interchangeably, they are not the same. It’s important to know the differences.

CBD Oil

A CBD oil made with CO2 extraction (pressured carbon dioxide), pulls CBD and other cannabinoids and terpenes from raw hemp and diffuses them into a carrier oil. MCT, coconut, and hemp seed are the three most common oils. A high-quality CBD oil will have a pleasant earthy taste with no bitterness, and usually just 2 ingredients (the CBD and carrier oil).

CBD Tinctures

Tinctures are alcohol-based extracts that dissolve the plant material into high-proof alcohol, heating it slowly to let it steep like tea. Over time, the plant material is strained from the liquid, and the tincture is often mixed with flavors like peppermint. A tincture alcohol base can have many ingredients in it.

Because CBD breaks down quicker in sunlight, they are both often packaged in brown dropper bottles, and both can be taken orally. Additionally, the benefits of both oils and tinctures are also similar.

CBD oil is a popular choice for customers who have an alcohol sensitivity, while those who don’t like the feel of oil in their mouths or prefer a flavor might try a tincture.

At the end of the day, ‘Better’ varies from person to person, and the customer should be able to choose wisely, knowing even though the tincture and oil are different, the health benefits are still the same!
